2 Lg Lamb Shanks
4 cups water
1 cup each diced carrots, diced onion, diced celery
4 cups garlic mashed potatoes
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 leek sliced thin
4 green onions slice
4 cups red wine
1 can tomato paste
4 tbsp beef base
Mcguires Steak Shake
1/4 head cabbage shredded

Sprinkle shanks with steak shake and flour. Roast in a deep pan at 375 until golden brown about 45 minutes. Add vegetables to clean pan and place shanks upright.add 3 cups red wine and 4 cups water. Cover tight and bake at 325 for 2 1/2 hrs to 3 hrs. Take drippings and add to sauce pan. reduce until thick. Saute cabbage , leeks, and green onion about two minutes. Serve over mashed potatoes with cocannon slaw on the side with lamb demi glace.
